Book illustration: Christmas seen from the stage

This is an illustration I drew for a story in the book “Jul i Fredrikstad” in 2019. The story is called “Jula sett fra scenen – en darwinistisk studie” [Christmas seen from the stage – a darwinistic study] and is written by Pål Nielsen. The story had a lot of jokes that uses interesting imagery, so I had a lot of ideas for this one. One joke was about how drunk people in the audience acted like animals and maybe were related to the missing link in our evolutionary ancestory. I considered this to be the one with the clearest concept, and this joke got the most space in the story, so this is what I went with.
